This workshop was very popular and we are hoping to organise another one with Sibylle soon.

DATE: Sunday, 11th September
TIME: 3.30pm – 5pm – please make sure you arrive 5 minutes early!
LOCATION: Pilates Plus/Qi Rooms, 11 South William Street (1st floor)
COST: €20

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

We will work on creating a sustainable balance between strength & flexibility in key areas such as the hamstrings, quads, core and spinal muscles. In doing so we hope to reduce risk of injury, improve recovery times and aid in building a sound foundation for a long and healthy running future. We will explore specific breathing exercises in order to strengthen the breathing apparatus, expand lung capacity and enhance detoxification.
In a brief discussion we will talk about the mental aspects of running and how to stay smiling within the challenge.

ABOUT SIBYLLE

Sibylle is one of my favourite ever yoga teachers and as she is also a runner herself, she is a true expert at teaching yoga for runners. Sibylle is Ireland’s only Jivamukti certified teacher and I am sure you will find her as inspirational as I do.

Suitable for all levels!

The Run with Tina Running Club is a friendly, inclusive running club for all girls. It is our aim to keep the club completely non-competitive and hence there are no ‘pace groups’ and we don’t set ourselves targets to break – this is purely recreational, social, fun club, where everyone is welcome.

Most girls join the club after completing the 8 week Running Made Easy course but we would love to see others join our clubs too. The only minimum requirement is that you are able to run for 30 minutes non-stop and that you’ve been running regularly for couple of months.

What makes our club even more special is that all profits raised through membership fees go to charity. The charity we support at the moment is Barretstown. Barrestown do amazing work by giving sick children, who have spent a lot of their life in hospitals and unable to take part in normal childhood activities, a chance to be a kid for a while. Through recreational therapy, the children’s confidence is improved and their self-belief is restored. Every year, they have to raise €5 million to be able to provide children in Ireland and all across Europe this wonderful opportunity. So when you join our club, you won’t only be keeping fit, but you’ll also help make a real difference in these children’s lives.

Our current meeting times are:

Ballsbridge: Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm (and monthly Saturday meetings)

Phoenix Park: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm (during the winter season we run outside the park for safety reasons).

Annual fee: €100 (payable in quarterly installments of €25)

If you would like to join, please email tina@runwithtina.com for further details.

New locations coming in the future – if you would like to start a Run with Tina running club near you, please get in touch!

I chose Barretstown as our charity to support because I was very touched and impressed by the amazing work they do by giving sick children, who have spent a lot of their life in hospitals and unable to take part in normal childhood activities, a chance to be a kid for a while. Through recreational therapy, the children’s confidence is improved and their self-belief is restored. Every year, Barretstown has to raise €5 million to be able to provide children in Ireland and all across Europe this wonderful opportunity.

I won’t be able to raise anywhere near that much, but I hope that with the support of my clients and friends, we’ll be able to help at least one child to get to go to Barretstown Castle next summer.

From October 2011, an extra €5 will be added to all our course fees – this €5 will go to Barretstown. From January 2012, all profits from our running clubs will go to Barretstown. We will also have events and other fundraising initiatives, so keep your eyes on the website www.runwithtina.com and Facebook (www.facebook.com/runwithtina).

Please read more about Barretstown below and donate whatever you can. You can donate using the “sponsor me now” button below via credit or debit card. You can be assured that your transaction on the mycharity.ie website is very secure. You will automatically receive an e-mail from me thanking you for your support, and acknowledging the amount of your donation.

Any donation no matter how small is hugely appreciated.

Many thanks in advance for your support,
