I am really excited about starting my first course next week. I have never been a runner or even a big fan of exercise in general, I've always been the ultimate couch potato but after reading all about Tina's methods and all the feedback left by others I finally feel this is something that I can do and more importantly enjoy!

I really enjoy running with Tina. I love the safety of a running group. I love that I am more likely to run when I have committed to meeting up with people at a given time. Tina is great – a mix of sensible running and stretching advice, with some holistic therapies and vegetarian recipes thrown in. She is good fun, very patient and the whole running group gels together on the runs. I am really enjoying running 8-10 km at the moment, when this time last year I couldn't have run 500 meters without getting out of breath.

This class was fantastic, it's just the right pace..no matter what your level. Even if you think you'll never be able to run this class is for you. Without even noticing all of a sudden you'll be running 15mins non stop, then next thing you know the class is over and you'll be running 30mins non-stop. As well as the running, Tina's stretching and toning exercises are excellent and really get you toned and ready for running without injury. And even if you lose motivation after finishing the course Tina is always at the other end of an e-mail, very willing to help you get back running. A definite must for everyone!

I agree with Ronan. I just completed a marathon in march of this year after having trained for 3 months. I didn't do an amazing time (5hrs 23mins) mind you, but it was certainly not the hardest thing I have ever done.

If you plan on building up to it slowly over the course of 10 months I think you'll be fine. People seem to have this preconeption that marathons are "impossible". As someone who is not very athletic and quite lazy in fact, I am inclined to disagree.

Best of luck to you in your races.

I do not agree with this. 42km is perfectly doable by all. People like to glamorize marathons. Humans are engineered to run long distances and with limited training can complete one.

It is more damaging for people's health to scare them off marathons/exercising with two year training plans that just won't happen than for them to go out and do a 5/6 hour marathon after a couple of weeks of training.

5 months is more than enough time to prepare for a full marathon never mind a half one.

The couch potato line was what drew me into starting up running with Tina in the first place. I was quite unfit and had little motivation to change. I was apprehensive that when I joined, the class would be full of people that were super fit already but there was no need for me to worry. Tina has a great teaching method and it makes you actually enjoy running. One year on and I'm still keeping it up. Thanks for everything Tina!!
